Former Geelong player Ted Clohesy has joined Port Adelaide as a train-on player during the supplemental selection period.

He joins Jaidyn Stephenson, Mitch Zadow and Balyn O’Brien in vying for two Power AFL list spots.

The 21-year-old hard-nosed midfielder replaces North Adelaide’s Blake Oudshoorn-Bennier, who was released from the program last week.

Clohesy played 12 games in his three seasons for the Cats after being picked up as a category B rookie via the club’s Next Generation Academy, thanks to his South African heritage.

Aside from his nine AFL appearances in 2025, he featured in 11 VFL matches, where he averaged almost 28 disposals and eight tackles per game.

Clohesy made the move to Adelaide this pre-season to join SANFL club Woodville-West Torrens, and will now spend at least the next three weeks at Alberton.

The pre-season supplemental selection period runs through until February 20, 2026.
