KANE Cornes has been granted life membership of the AFL.

He was among 10 players to automatically qualify for the merit during the 2014 AFL season.

A player or coach qualifies for AFL life membership after participating in a combined 300 games.

Cornes has played 293 premiership games, 26 pre-season games and one state game (in the 2008 Hall of Fame Tribute Match).

The veteran midfielder is also set to become Port Adelaide's first 300-gamer in the AFL.

In doing so, he will join Port legends Russell Ebert, Greg Phillips and Tim Ginever in playing more than 300 first-class club games.

Jimmy Bartel, Leon Cameron, Kane Cornes, Dean Cox, Nick dal Santo, Corey Enright, Nick Riewoldt, Brenton Sanderson, Justin Schmitt (umpire) and Brad Scott also qualify for AFL life membership.
