THE POWER are set to face the Hawks on Thursday with an unchanged line-up.

With no injuries against Geelong and Chad Wingard a 1-2 week prospect to return from a calf strain, Port's selection panel has opted to stick with the formula that fell just short against the Cats in Round 10.

Senior coach Ken Hinkley believes Port's football has been consistent and told Sportsday SA on FiveAA the coaching panel had opted to back in the players from last week's side.

"I think the boys who have been playing have been really consistent," Hinkley said.

"[They've been] in every contest, the ladder says we're eighth - we accept that - but the ladder says we've been pretty consistent as a football club.

"We've played strong footy in every game we've been in, we've had a couple of down quarters, but other than that, we've been pretty honest.

"You back the boys in to keep playing the footy they have been playing."

Port fell short against the Cats after withstanding their early control at Kardinia Park and snatching the lead late in the game.

Only when Patrick Dangerfield snared a late goal did Port fall short at the death.

While acknowledging down form from some players, Hinkley still felt the Power was able to produce quality football against Geelong at home.

"There were a couple players who were a little bit down, but you're always going to get that," Hinkley said

"Over the course of the team, I thought we were reasonably consistent albeit that we perhaps we didn't have a couple of players who stood out as easily as Dangerfield, Selwood and Duncan.

"We thought two or three of our other players played some pretty strong footy."

Port Adelaide's final team will be announced at 5.50pm ACST on Wednesday 31 May, ahead of the Power's clash with the Hawks at the Adelaide Oval at 7.20pm ACST on Thursday 1 June.
