YOUNG key defender Tom Clurey will remain at Alberton until at least the end of the 2019 season after agreeing to terms on a new contract.

General Manager of Football Chris Davies says the two-year deal is a just reward for 23-year-old Clurey.

“Tom has made himself an important pillar of the club’s defence over the past year,” Davies said.

“He regularly gets the job on the opposition’s biggest forward and has performed really well this season.”

Clurey was taken at pick 29 in the 2012 National Draft. He’s played 32 AFL games including 18 consecutively since earning a spot back in the side in Round 15, 2016.
