Watkins managed to play out most of Saturday's game, however imaging on Monday showed a strain, with his timeframe for return to be determined over the next week.
Joe Richards' finger is recovering well from surgery, but the 26-year-old will need another week before he's ready to return to football.
Jack Lukosius underwent a knee scope on Friday to determine the cause of the baker's cyst at the back of his knee.
Lukosius had the area of concern identified and tidied up and won't be available for the remainder of the season.
Zak Butters began running on Monday in his return from a syndesmosis repair, with the midfielder pushing for a possible return late in the season.
Port Adelaide will name its team for Saturday's game against Sydney on Thursday at 5:50pm.
