PORT ADELAIDE defender Martin Frederick has been nominated for the SANFL’s goal of the week.

Frederick received the nomination for his coast to coast effort in the Magpies’ win over West Adelaide, which saw him first take possession on half back.

The teenager marked a switched ball on defensive 50 before chipping short to teammate Trent McKenzie.

Frederick received a handball from McKenzie as he overlapped through the middle, this time chipping to Willem Drew.

He continued to run through the centre as Drew handpassed to Billy Frampton, who gathered and continued the handball chain, returning it to Frederick.

The Power rookie ran to 40 metres, steadied and nailed the goal – his first in senior football.

Frederick is up against Glenelg’s Luke Reynolds and North Adelaide’s Max Thring for the Round 12 Goal of the Week.
