POWER players Jack Watts and Karl Amon will undergo scans to determine the seriousness of injuries sustained in the Power’s 16-point win over Blues on Saturday night.

Defender Jack Watts went down clutching his leg after being tackled by Dale Thomas in the final term.

Play was paused for several minutes as he was stretchered off by medical staff.

Speaking to media post-game, Senior Coach Ken Hinkley said Watts’ injury could be anything from a bad ankle sprain to a broken leg.

“Obviously, Jack’s in a pretty serious way, at the very least he’s got a syndesmosis ankle sprain which is a nasty injury – but most likely, a broken leg, not dissimilar to Charlie Dixon,” he said.

“We’ll get all the information but at the moment that’s what it looks like.

“He understands there’s a big challenge and he’s worked so hard to get back to a point where he’s just starting to build up some credits, and I say good on him.

“He’s got another challenge – he’s faced plenty in his time, and he’ll face this one well.”

Midfielder Karl Amon came off the ground midway through the first term, spending the remainder of the game sidelined icing a knee.

“Karl’s is a medial ligament – again we’ll have to get a scan to see how serious that is, but you can expect he won’t be playing too for the next few weeks,” Hinkley said.
