THERE will be one forced change to the Port Adelaide line-up for Sunday afternoon’s clash against Sydney, with ruckman Paddy Ryder to miss with Achilles tendonitis.

The All-Australian big man felt discomfort early in the third quarter of Saturday’s 50-point season-opening win over Fremantle at Adelaide Oval.

Coach Ken Hinkley has suggested Port could use a combination of Charlie DixonJustin Westhoff and Dougal Howard or bring in a like-for-like replacement, with young ruckmen Peter Ladhams, Billy Frampton and Sam Hayes potential options.

Three-time club champion Robbie Gray is set to play his first game of the season after completing a one-match suspension.

Jimmy Toumpas, Jack Hombsch and recruit Jack Trengove each put in impressive shifts in the Magpies’ SANFL trial last Friday night, while Karl Amon was an unused emergency but could be considered to take on the Swans.

The squad to face Sydney will be announced on Thursday.
