First quarter

Humid, slippery conditions met the players as the game got underway in Darwin, with the ball resembling a piece of soap as both teams adjusted.

Brad Green bombed from 50m for the Demons to get the first goal on the board after a scrappy start.

Daniel Stewart looked dangerous early taking two inside 50 marks but failed to convert on both.

Recently re-signed Paul Stewart got the Power’s first major on the board before Green answered straight back for the ‘home’ side.

Paul Stewart kicked his second after making a good contest in the air before Jared Rivers and then Stefan Martin goaled for the Demons.

Jasper Pittard came off worse for wear following a big collision with Chad Wingard in a marking contest.

The Demons closed out a quarter where the Power missed opportunities with a goal to Colin Sylvia.

Second quarter

Aaron Young was subbed in to the game to replace Pittard, who was off with a rib injury.

Daniel Stewart finally took his opportunity, snapping on his non-preferred right before Travis Boak converted from a free kick.

Both teams continued to struggle with the conditions in the second quarter, but it was the Power who looked more dangerous going forward.

The Power dominated much of the second quarter, with the ball spending long periods in the forward half, but the visitors weren’t taking the most of their opportunities.

Brett Ebert finally broke through late in the quarter to open up a slight advantage for the Power.

Green kicked a behind after the siren to avoid the Demons first scoreless second quarter since 1990.

Third quarter

Matthew Broadbent got the Power off to the perfect start in the third quarter, goaling inside the first minute following a deep kick from Brett Ebert.

The Demons had the better of the middle stages of the quarter but failed to convert several opportunities.

A Sam Blease snap was in the middle of a sandwich of Paul Stewart goals as Stewart took his tally to four to keep the lead at 11 points at three quarter time.

Fourth quarter

Aaron Young snapped a brilliant goal to finish off some outstanding team play where Brett Ebert saved the ball from going out and Westhoff flicked it back to Young with his foot.

Matthew Lobbe then marked strongly deep inside 50 from a Travis Boak shark from a stoppage and kicked truly to open up a 23-point lead eight minutes into the final quarter.

The Dees missed several straight forward opportunities and the Power punished them at the other end with goals to Chad Wingard and a career-high fifth to Paul Stewart.

The Power looked cleaner in the final quarter and ran out comfortable 28 point victors.
