Port Adelaide's Brad Ebert and Mitch Wallis of the Western Bulldogs battle for possession.

WESTERN BULLDOGS supporters will see forward recruit Josh Bruce for the first time in blue, red and white when they travel to Whyalla to face Port Adelaide at a redeveloped Bennett Oval this afternoon.

Injuries mean Bruce missed the Dogs opening Marsh Community Series match against North Melbourne a fortnight ago.

The former Giant and Saint was among the prized recruits to Whitten Oval in the off-season, alongside ex-Crows backman Alex Keath.

The Bulldogs have also recalled three familiar faces in Matt Suckling, Easton Wood and Tim English who each missed the win over the Kangaroos.

Reliable defender Hayden Crozier has been named at half back after inking a three-year contract extension during the week.

Skipper Marcus Bontempelli, Jack Macrae and Jason Johannisen each featured last Friday night in the Bushfire State of Origin fundraiser match.

Bontempelli starred in that game, backing up his best on ground performance against the Kangaroos a week earlier where he finished with 37 disposals, 10 clearances, two goals and 11 inside 50s.

Two changes have been confirmed for the match-up against the Power with Tory Dickson to sit the game out with an adductor injury and Ed Richards also dropping out of the side.

The Bulldogs will reduce their 26-player team to 24 before the first bounce on Saturday afternoon at 3:40pm ACDT.
