Speaking after the Power's ten-goal thumping to the previously winless North Melbourne, Motlop said he supports coach Matthew Primus wielding the axe as the Power try to find the right formula on the field.
Already this season, Primus has dropped Chad Cornes, Danyle Pearce, Kade Cornes and this week Steven Salopek, sending a strong message to the senior players of the club.
"We have to just keep trying blokes to find that right mix. It just has to keep happening until we find that mix and get a win," Motlop told portadelaidefc.com.au.
"We are lacking confidence at the moment and bringing a couple of young blokes in could really revive everyone with that excitement."
"Everyone has a little bit to offer. There are things we need to do better and we are getting better at things."
Like his coach, Motlop could not explain his teammates reversal of form after their stunning win over Adelaide in the Showdown two weeks ago.
"We were pretty confident today to come out and play some really good footy and in patches we played well, in other patches North Melbourne just got a roll on," he said.
"It's not one individual, it's the whole team. At the moment we are just a bit down and there are games there we should have won."
This season has been a long road for Motlop. After being told by the leadership group he had lost the trust of his teammates after turning up late for a training session and a physio appointment, the former North Melbourne forward has been a shining light for his side in the previous two weeks.
After back-to-back four goal performances in the losses to Gold Coast and North Melbourne, Motlop believes he has finally settled into the squad and is prepared to prove a few doubters wrong.
"I'm getting there slowly, I have just got back into the squad and hopefully we can get a win next week."
After a week of soul-searching following their inexcusable loss to the Suns, Motlop backed his younger teammates to help the club turn the corner, starting with Hawthorn next Friday night at AAMI Stadium.
"We have some fantastic leaders here - the young boys have really stepped up," he said.
"It's time for them to take control. We have some good young blokes coming through who do show the way."
"We are moving forward but in terms of winning we are not. Hopefully next week we can get a win. We have a big game and a good record against Hawthorn and it's at our home ground."
