CYRIL Rioli and Ben McEvoy could return to the fold for Hawthorn in Saturday afternoon's second preliminary final.

The pair would be huge inclusions for the reigning premiers, which will meet Port Adelaide in the knockout qualifier for the 2014 AFL Grand Final.

Rioli has not played since injurying a hamstring tendon in Round 15, but is now considered a potential starter for the Power clash.

POWER INJURIES: JONAS A LIKELY SELECTION

He will be tested at Hawks training during the week.

Hawthorn forward Jack Gunston told the press on Monday morning the livewire forward is approaching full fitness.

"He's always up and about, Cyril. He's ready to go, he's trained pretty well lately," Gunston said on Monday.

"Hopefully he can get through the session today – I think he's joining the main group and he's going to do a full session.

"I think he was about 80 or 90 per cent last week and hopefully he can get through the session today."

Ben McEvoy also impressed for Hawthorn's VFL affiliate Box Hill on the weekend, with the local league Hawks qualifying for another grand final next weekend.

McEvoy was superior for Box Hill in the seven-point prelim final win over Williamstown, with 20 disposals, nine marks and 45 hit outs.

POWER RATINGS: EVERY PLAYER FROM OUR SEMI FINAL WIN

Hawthorn's general manager of football operations Chris Fagan said McEvoy's performance will be noted at the selection table.

"All he can do, is do what he's done," Fagan told afl.com.au

"Selection table decisions have to be made, even Luke Lowden today the other ruckman has kicked four goals.

"So we've got four ruckmen at the moment who are playing really good football so it's actually quite a difficult decision to make but all those guys can do is just keep performing and hope things fall their way."
