Whilst Port Adelaide’s players are still toiling away amidst one of their toughest pre-seasons in recent history, a group of older adults are up and running for 2013.

The Life Exercises program - supported by ACH Group - has returned to Alberton Oval this week. Participants are all over 60 and take part in two active sessions per week for 10 weeks.

Staff from ACH Group and Power Community Ltd educate participants about the benefits of living a healthy, active lifestyle.

The sessions commence in the Power Community Classroom and include both theory and practical activities. Among their exercises, participants walk laps of Alberton Oval and climb the steps of the Fos Williams Family Grandstand.

Port Adelaide legend Russell Ebert is a regular visitor to the classes, most of which are comprised of dedicated PAFC members.

“Motivated members of Life Exercises inspire all who watch them go through their paces, which encourages others to be active,” Russell said.

“Age is no barrier to healthy exercise and this program is living proof of that.

“It’s a wonderful thing that the club can offer programs such as these to our members which promotes an inclusive environment here at the club.”

The Life Exercises program runs at the club year-round.
