PORT ADELAIDE duo Ryan Burton and Steven Motlop will miss Saturday night’s clash against St Kilda after sustaining respective injuries in the weekend’s win over Carlton.

Burton was unable to return to the field after injuring his right quad in the third quarter, while Motlop left the field in the final term after landing awkwardly on his left ankle.

Scans confirmed Motlop has sprained ligaments in his ankle and mid-foot but luckily avoided any bone damage. Both players will be monitored in the coming days in order to determine a clearer timeframe for their return.

Young forward Connor Rozee will undergo a fitness test later in the week after landing awkwardly on his heel in the second quarter on Sunday.

Ruckman Scott Lycett is progressing well after missing the Round 7 win over Carlton with a minor PCL sprain in his knee, while Cam Sutcliffe will be assessed in training for a return this week from the hamstring injury he suffered in the Round 6 win over Greater Western Sydney.

Finally, great news for midfielder Willem Drew who has been cleared to play in the trial game this weekend after completing extensive rehabilitation following his foot surgery in March.

The club will on Thursday evening name its side for the game against the Saints at Adelaide Oval.
