Port Adelaide’s tackling picked up in Sunday’s game against Fremantle on with significant improvements in the ‘pressure' statistics from previous weeks.

The Power led the tackle count, beating the Dockers 76-75, with Brad Ebert dominating with 11 tackles.

Despite the improvements in pressure, coaches Matthew Primus and assistant Shaun Rehn lamented the Power's ball-usage.

The Power had 19 more unforced errors on the Dockers and will look to improve on that against North Melbourne on Saturday. 

Half of skipper Dom Cassisi’s 20 possession were contested, whilst David Rodan’s defensive game also improved racking up 12 contested possessions - his highest all season.

Port Adelaide’s backline fought hard against a strong Fremantle forward line, with Troy Chaplin managing 25 disposals and eight marks having played the entirety of the game on the field. Jackson Trengove accrued 23 disposals, 9 contested possessions, 8 marks and 5 one-percenters.

Matthew Broadbent scored a miraculous goal from the boundary and he and John Butcher combined for four goals between them.
