Doubt On Farewell Game
Dean Brogan has probably played his last game for Port with injury likely to rule him out of a game in round 24
AFL in the City
Brogan hasn't played at any level since announcing plans to retire at the end of the season in June.
The premiership ruckman played the first half of the season with an Achilles complaint, but has missed the past two months with a calf injury.
He was named to return against the Western Bulldogs last weekend, but withdrew from the team on Friday afternoon after developing more soreness in his calf at training.
Primus said he was hopeful Brogan would be fit to play his 174th and final game against the Demons in round 24.
"It's touch and go at the moment," Primus said on Friday.
"'Broges' tried to get up last week, but got pretty sore towards the end of the week.
"He had a little bit of a setback, which is why he hasn't been out here training this week but we're hoping he'll get through training next Wednesday and Friday and be right to play next week.
"He'd have to be close to fully fit … probably 80 per cent to play."
The Power have made three changes for their clash with Essendon at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Brett Ebert, Matt Broadbent and Cam O'Shea have all been recalled.
Daniel Stewart, Jason Davenport and untried midfielder Aaron Young, who will be the travelling emergency, have been left out of the final 22.
Defender Jackson Trengove, who re-signed with the club earlier in the week, has been named but didn't complete training at AAMI Stadium on Friday.
Three-time best and fairest winner Kane Cornes failed to make it into the 25-man squad named on Thursday despite gathering 40 possessions for Glenelg, prompting renewed speculation he would be traded at the end of the season.
Cornes, who has two years to run on his contract, has already vowed to refuse to agree to a trade if his name is brought up during the AFL exchange period in October.
Primus said he wouldn't tolerate Cornes, believed to be one of the highest-paid players at Alberton, playing out the remainder of his contract in the SANFL and maintained the 28-year-old was a required player.
"I understand because Kane's not in the team people will want to discuss that, but he knows where it all sits and so do we … and at the moment we're not saying for him to leave," he said.
"It was more about where Cam O'Shea and Matthew Broadbent were at. We freshened them up and we've been wanting to play them all year and we have, and they've come in ahead of Kane.
"Kane's performance in the SANFL was good and I'm sure he'll have another good one tonight and see if he can force his way in next week."
The battling Power have won 12 of their past 13 games against the Bombers, who need to win on Sunday to shore up their position in the final eight ahead of the bye next weekend.
"That record probably doesn't mean anything this week," Primus said.
"Our boys know that we did play them there last year and had a good win, but that seems like a long time ago at the moment.
"We really want to get that competitive nature back in how we want to play, and some winning footy would be nice, but just to be in the game after quarter-time and half-time.
"You spend three or four months of pre-season remembering how you finished off the previous season and if you don't finish off on a good note that sticks with you for that time. It would be nice to finish with some positivity."
