The Port Adelaide Football Club advises that a Member election will be held in 2012 for one position on its Board of Directors.

The club has received four (4) nominations for the one (1) Director position which has become vacant following the expiry of the three-year term of Mr Alex Panas, who is seeking re-nomination.

The candidates are Mr Panas, Mr George Fiacchi, Mr Trevor Johnson and Mr Jason Makarenko.

Port Adelaide is introducing on-line voting in 2012, but has offered traditional postal voting to members who have requested it.

The Club wrote to all eligible 2012 Members in October informing them of the need to opt into postal voting if they desired.

The letter also asked them to ensure it has current email contacts to facilitate the electronic voting process.

The Club has extended the deadline to do this until 5pm Monday 26 November 2012.

Eligible 2012 Members wishing to opt into postal voting or update their contact details should contact the Club on 1300 GO PAFC (1300 467 232).

On-line and postal voting will open at 8am on Friday 30 November and run until 5pm on Wednesday 12 December.

Eligible Members who have opted into the postal voting process will receive material including candidate profiles and ballot papers around Friday 30 November, while other eligible members will receive an email alerting them to the on-line process on Friday 30 November.

Following the close of the election on Wednesday 12 December and the vote count, the members’ nominee will be notified to the SA Football Commission which is responsible for the appointment of Directors as per the Constitution of the Port Adelaide Football Club.

Independent contractor Computershare Investor Services - which undertakes elections for many organisations, including other AFL clubs - will conduct Port Adelaide’s on-line and postal ballot.
