First year forward Mitch Georgiades has been pushing his claim to return to Port Adelaide's line-up after playing in the club's Round 1 win over Gold Coast.

PORT ADELAIDE will be forced into at least two changes from the side that beat Carlton last weekend for Saturday night’s clash with St Kilda and there are no shortage of players putting their hands up.

Injuries to defender Ryan Burton and forward Steven Motlop have opened the door for midfielder/forward Brad Ebert to come straight back into the team, having served his one-week suspension for a high bump in the win over Greater Western Sydney in Round 6.

Young forwards Mitch Georgiades, Tobin Cox and Boyd Woodcock pressed their claims for selection with impressive showings against Adelaide in a trial game at Alberton Oval last Saturday.

Cox and Woodcock also spent time through the midfield, showing their versatility.

Small forward Boyd Woodcock impressed in last weekend's scratch match against Adelaide and was a travelling emergency in Round 7.

Woodcock was taken off early and travelled with the Power side to the Gabba as an emergency last weekend and could be under consideration to make his AFL debut.

Experienced midfielder Tom Rockliff and defenders Riley Bonner, Jarrod Lienert and Joel Garner will likely be talked about around the selection table along with the club’s first draft pick from 2019 Miles Bergman, another eager to appear on the big stage for the first time.

The versatile Cam Sutcliffe will undergo a fitness test this week to prove he has overcome a hamstring injury suffered a fortnight ago and could be in the mix as well.

Port Adelaide will on Thursday evening name its side to tackle the Saints, with first bounce at Adelaide Oval at 7:10pm on Saturday night.
