PORT ADELAIDE father-son prospect Jase Burgoyne has been named the SANFL’s Torrens University Cup MVP nominee for Round 4 after an impressive performance for Woodville-West Torrens.

Burgoyne starred for the Eagles off half back with 31 disposals and a goal in their nine-point win over North Adelaide.

The son of Port Adelaide premiership star Peter Burgoyne and brother of current Power rookie Trent Burgoyne, Jase is part of Port Adelaide’s father-son academy.

The Port District junior played six SANFL Under 18 games last year, averaging 16 disposals, and was part of the Eagles side which won the Under 18 premiership, alongside fellow Port Adelaide father-son prospect Taj Schofield and fellow NGA member Lachlan Jones.

He also earned selection in the 2019 State Under-16 squad.

At 17, Burgoyne is eligible as a father-son selection to Port Adelaide at the 2021 draft.
