Connor Rozee played out Port Adelaide's pre-season game against the Crows, booting two goals.

PORT ADELAIDE forward Connor Rozee will undergo a surgical procedure to correct an issue with a joint in his foot.

Rozee pulled up sore after the internal trial last month and the club sought the opinion of a specialist in Sydney.

The 21-year-old kicked two goals in Port Adelaide’s 71-point win over Adelaide as part of a plan by the club to get valuable game time into him in advance of this week’s procedure.

“As we indicated after Connor first saw the specialist, our medical and high-performance teams helped devise a management plan for the injury and once it became apparent that the best course of action would be for him to have surgery, it was important to get that booked in,” said General Manager – Football, Chris Davies.

“Our advice was that the injury would not get worse by Connor playing today and as we saw, he contributed strongly.

“He will now have the procedure and should be unimpeded going forward for the rest of the campaign.”

Rozee’s joint issue is separate to the plantar fascia injury which saw him miss a handful of games last season.
