Robbie Gray faces a fine from the MRO

PORT ADELAIDE forward Robbie Gray has drawn the ire of the Match Review Officer, being cited for rough conduct during his side’s 54-point win over Essendon.

Gray was charged over an incident in the last quarter of the match at Adelaide Oval on Saturday.

His contact on Bomber Zach Merrett was deemed by the MRO to be careless, with high contact but low impact.

Being a first offence Gray was given a $3000 sanction but he can accept a $2000 fine with an early guilty plea.

The 32-year-old finished with 16 disposals, six marks and two clearances for the match as Port Adelaide kept in tact its unbeaten start to the season and maintained its spot at the top of the ladder.

Gray has until Monday to decide whether to challenge the allegation.
