THE availability of explosive forward Connor Rozee could force at least one change to the Port Adelaide side to tackle West Coast on Saturday night.
Rozee has missed the opening two rounds of the season after having surgery to remove scar tissue from around a joint in his foot but has returned to full training and is expected to be part of the side named on Friday evening.
Fellow forward Todd Marshall was a late withdrawal from the Round 2 win over Essendon with a back injury but will also be pushing to return if he gets through training.
With West Coast’s tall forward options, the selectors could be tempted to bring defender Trent McKenzie back in for his first game of the season, while Jarrod Lienert pushed his case with a solid showing in a SANFL trial on Friday night.
Second-year forward Dylan Williams was also good in that game, booting three goals and did his chances of getting an AFL debut no harm.
Crafty forward Boyd Woodcock and experienced midfielder Tom Rockliff were among the AFL emergencies for the Bombers game with the latter an unused injury substitute who has been close to being in the team.
Port Adelaide will on Friday evening name its side to tackle the Eagles, with the game getting underway at Optus Stadium at 5:10pm AWST / 7:40pm ACDT on Saturday.
