Travis Boak's teammates react as he is awarded his third Showdown Medal.

PORT ADELAIDE midfielder Travis Boak received dual recognition for his performance in the club’s win over the Crows on Saturday night adding the coaches votes to his Showdown Medal win.

Boak won his third Showdown Medal after his 28-disposal, three tackle and six clearance performance, narrowly edging out defender Tom Clurey in the voting.

Despite some debate after the medal announcement, the coaches agreed with the judges, giving Boak eight votes and Clurey seven.

The big backman had 17 disposals, seven marks and a game-high ten intercepts while keeping the dangerous Taylor Walker goalless and to just six disposals.

Port skipper Tom Jonas and fellow defender Darcy Byre-Jones each received four votes while forward Todd Marshall’s three-goal effort earned him a vote and Karl Amon also received one.

Midfielder Rory Laird was the sole Crow to receive votes from the coaches with five awarded to him for his game-high 36 disposals.

Just three players across the competition scored the perfect 10 votes including Western Bulldogs captain Marcus Bontempelli, Collingwood’s Jordan De Goey and Melbourne’s Tom McDonald.

There is a new outright leader with Brisbane’s Hugh McCluggage moving ahead of Fremantle’s David Mundy thanks to him polling eight votes in the win over the Dockers.

Port Adelaide vice-captain Ollie Wines remains his side’s best placed player, eight votes behind McCluggage in a tie for third.
