Port Adelaide trio Abbey Dowrick, Teagan Germech and Matilda Scholz have been recognised for their outstanding 2026 campaigns, earning selection in the AFLW All-Australian squad of 42.

The nominations mark a significant milestone for Germech, who earns her first All-Australian squad selection following a breakout season that has seen her establish herself as one of the competition's emerging defenders.

Dowrick earns her second squad selection after another outstanding season in the midfield, while Scholz adds a third consecutive All-Australian squad recognition to her growing list of accolades.

For Dowrick, the recognition comes after another consistent and influential season in the midfield, where her clearance work, booming right-foot and ability to win contested possessions have been a feature of her game.

The midfielder averaged 22.2 disposals at 62.8 per cent efficiency, 13.2 contested possessions, 7.7 clearances, 5.8 tackles and 3.6 score involvements across her 12 matches, while also contributing seven goals.

Teammate Teagan Germech earns her first All-Australian squad nomination following a breakout season in defence.

The key defender played all 12 matches, averaging 13.5 disposals at 66.7 per cent efficiency, 2.8 marks, 1.7 intercept marks, 2.5 spoils and 2.8 rebound 50s per game.

Germech has quickly established herself as an important presence in Port Adelaide's backline, with her intercept ability, athleticism and defensive stability a feature of her season.

Her career-best campaign was highlighted by a dominant Round 1 performance against Fremantle, which showcased her ability to read the play and disrupt the opposition’s ball movement.

She recorded 10 disposals by half-time, nine of which were intercept possessions, as the 23-year-old consistently positioned herself to roll off her opponent and disrupt the opposition's attack. She finished that game with a club-record 16 intercept possessions.

Rounding out Port Adelaide's nominees is Matilda Scholz, who earns her third consecutive All-Australian squad recognition after being named in the final team in 2025, following an extended squad selection in 2024.

The emerging ruck continued her dominant form in the middle, averaging 18.2 disposals, 9.3 contested possessions, 43.1 ruck contests, 26.5 hitouts and 7.2 hitouts to advantage across her 12 matches.

Scholz also finished the regular season ranked first in the competition for total hitouts, recording 321 to become just the fifth player in AFLW history to do so.

At just 21 years of age, Scholz continues to establish herself as one of the competition's premier rucks, combining her craft in the contest with her ability to compete at ground level and contribute to Port Adelaide's offensive work.

The final AFLW All-Australian team of 21 will be announced at the W Awards on Monday, 23 November.Â
