Kelly Barltrop landed at Alberton ahead of the 2024 AFLW season, taking on the role of development coach.

A secondary school teacher by day, Barltrop previously played more than 50 SANFLW games between North Adelaide and West Adelaide, before retiring at the end of the 2023 season.

She began taking coaching opportunities in both state and SANFLW programs including forward line assistant and development league mentor at West Adelaide, and co-head-coach of the Bloods’ under 16 talent shield program.

Prior to the 2024 season, she became the forwards coach of North Adelaide’s SANFLW side after previously serving as the backline coach for the AFLW Academy talent prospects and the under 16 state program.
