PORT ADELAIDE has farewelled ruckman Peter Ladhams after the 23-year-old was traded to Sydney in the final minutes of the 2021 AFL trade period.

Ladhams – who has played 32 AFL games including 17 this year – departs in a trade that sees Port Adelaide also give up its pick 16 in the 2021 draft but receive pick 12 and a future third-round pick in return.

Ladhams arrived at Alberton in the 2016 rookie draft, playing as both a ruck and forward and booting 21 goals at AFL level.

Port Adelaide List Manager Jason Cripps thanked Ladhams for his contribution.

“Once Peter requested a trade to Sydney, we worked with the Swans to facilitate an agreement that would benefit both parties,” Cripps said.

“Pleasingly we have strengthened our hand for next month’s national draft as well as the 2022 draft to allow us to bring in some talented young players that will complement our developing group.”

Port Adelaide’s only other trade involved the arrival of forward Jeremy Finlayson from Greater Western Sydney for a future third-round draft pick.

Port Adelaide currently holds picks 12, 63, 73, 74 and 92 for the 2021 draft, to be held over two days on November 24 and 25. The pre-season and rookie draft will be held on Friday 26 November.
