PORT ADELAIDE has already confirmed it will require at least two changes at selection for Saturday’s game against North Melbourne with a host of players hoping to replace injured backman Riley Bonner and former Kangaroo Trent Dumont on the plane to Hobart.

Bonner suffered a sprained ankle in the win over the Western Bulldogs and has been ruled out of the trip to Tasmania.

Dumont has been one of the more consistent performers since coming into the line-up as the medical substitute for the Round 4 game against Melbourne.

The 26-year-old has averaged 15.4 disposals in his five games this season but has this week fallen under the AFL’s health and safety protocols and won’t get to face his former side.

Kane Farrell, who will come out of isolation in the coming days, will be hoping for an immediate return to the side while the versatile Miles Bergman has overcome a virus and will also be in the mix for selection.

Speedy forward Orazio Fantasia is in line to return for his first game of the season after off-season knee surgery. The 26-year-old booted 28 goals in 15 games last season to be the club’s third highest goal kicker but has not featured since last year’s preliminary final.

Forward Charlie Dixon played his first game for the year in the SANFL at the weekend, and managed 1.1 and two marks to go with 11 disposals in his return following ankle surgery.

Exciting defender Lachie Jones was among the better performers in the SANFL, racking up 24 touches, seven tackles and three clearances in a predominantly midfield role.

Martin Frederick (18 disposals, two tackles, one goal) and Jed McEntee (16 disposals, seven tackles, two clearances) were also prominent for the Magpies.

Port Adelaide will on Thursday evening name its side to tackle North Melbourne.

The game at Blundstone Arena gets underway at 2:10pm local time / 1:40pm ACST on Saturday.
