PORT ADELAIDE has dominated the votes in Round 14 of the Shadforth AFLCA Champion of the Year Award, after an 11-point win against Geelong.

Ruckman Scott Lycett received maximum votes from the two coaches for his 24-disposal, 41-hit-out, 9-clearance and 18-contested possession game against the ladder leaders.

Port’s star midfield/forward Robbie Gray was also highly recognised after receiving seven votes for 31 disposals and 2 goals.

Former skipper Travis Boak received another 6 votes against the Cats for his 30 disposals - 17 of them contested.

Boak now sits third on the overall leaderboard - only 11 points adrift of the current leader, Geelong’s Tim Kelly.

Key defender Tom Clurey was also recognised by the coaches for his defensive effort on Geelong spearhead Tom Hawkins.

Clurely held Hawkins to no goals, no marks and just five possessions in Saturday night’s win over the Cats.

Sydney Swan’s co-captain Luke Parker and Brisbane Lion’s Charlie Cameron were the only other players to receive 10 votes.

Patrick Cripps still remains in second spot on the leaderboard despite Carlton’s bye on the weekend.
