PORT ADELAIDE will be without Sam Hayes for its SANFL game against South Adelaide after the ruckman received a ban for striking.

Hayes pleaded guilty to striking Sturt’s Daniel Fahey-Sparks in the third quarter of Saturday’s game at Wigan Oval at Unley.

The incident was assessed to be intentional with high contact of low impact, meaning he was offered a two-match ban but was able to have it reduced to one after entering an early plea.

Port Adelaide travels to Noarlunga to face the Panthers on Sunday from 1:35pm.
