CELEBRITY chef, author, TV personality and Coles ambassador, Curtis Stone, has paid a visit to the Port Adelaide Football Club.

The visit comes after Port Adelaide recently announced Coles have uplifted their partnership with the club in a dynamic multi-year deal, with one of the nation’s most recognised brand’s now extending their support across the club’s AFL and AFLW programs.

Healthy food and lifestyle education underpins the partnership as a core value both brands share, and Stone’s trip to South Australia was designed to share these important messages with young people across the state.

Stone commenced his visit to South Australia at the iconic Alberton Oval having a kick with the AFL playing group, before travelling to Blair Athol North Primary School for an education session and cooking class.

At the school, Stone joined the Power Community Limited (PCL) team, accompanied by AFLW stars Hannah Ewings, Yasmin Duursma and Alex Ballard, to deliver an education session to almost 100 students on what defines a healthy meal, how to make healthy food and snacks for their lunchboxes, and what constitutes a healthy substitute for treats, before conducting an exclusive cooking class with 10 students.

Making wood fired pizzas in the school’s kitchen, students Elsa White and Hussain Saiyed praised Stone, and said they walked away with a greater understanding about the importance of eating healthy food from his visit today.

“Today I learnt that food that comes out of the ground is better than food that comes out of the packet,” Hussain Saiyed said.

And Elsa White said “Curtis is a really great person, he’s really kind. It was so exciting – I told my Mum!”.

Ollie Wines, Orazio Fantasia and Erin Phillips then joined Stone at the Coles store in St Clair to compete in the inaugural ‘Mr. Pear Head’ competition.

Joined by some junior Port Adelaide fans, both Wines and Fantasia were challenged by Stone to create each other using only a pear and fruit.

After a heated and creative five-minute battle, Judges Stone and Phillips crowned Wines' team the champions.
