WINGMAN Xavier Duursma will miss a period of football after he was confirmed to have suffered a tear of the posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Duursma came from the ground in the first quarter of Port Adelaide’s win over St Kilda on Friday night after a heavy collision with an opponent and was unable to return.

Imaging on Sunday afternoon confirmed the tear.

A timeframe for the 22-year-old’s return to football will become clearer over coming days.
