CHARLIE DIXON will spend a period on the sidelines with confirmation the forward has a small fracture in his foot.

Dixon reported soreness in his left foot last week and withdrew from the weekend’s trip to Geelong.

Imaging at the time proved inconclusive but a number of further investigations have identified a small crack under his midfoot that will not need surgery but will mean the 32-year-old will require a period of rest.

It is expected that Dixon will be sidelined for about four weeks.
