Harrison Ramm joined Port Adelaide’s AFL list on Wednesday night, selected at pick 3 in the mid-season rookie draft.

A key position player standing at 202 centimetres, Ramm is an athletic defender, with developing ruck ability.

At 18 years old, Ramm was overlooked in last year’s national draft but has since gained experience at SANFL level, playing six of the club’s first seven games.

Ramm possesses good running ability, clocking a 6:29 two-kilometre time trial at the state combine last year.

Agile and versatile, he works well in the air and can take intercept marks and attack the ball well from the backline.

“Still only 18 years old, Harrison has physically matured over the pre-season and transitioned seamlessly into senior football this year,” National Recruiting Manager Geoff Parker said.

“At 202 centimetres, he has the versatility to play multiple roles in defence, attack or as a ruckman.

“As a tall defender, he has shown that he can compete with the best SANFL talls and still has a lot of growth ahead of him.”

Previously, Port Adelaide has chosenCam Sutcliffe (2019), Jed McEntee (2021), Brynn Teakle (2022), Quinton Narkle (2023) and Logan Evans (2024) in the mid-season rookie draft.
