KARL AMON will stay at Alberton after signing a contract extension.

The 22-year-old wingman will now wear Port colours in 2018 and 2019 thanks to the deal after agreeing to terms on a new contract.

Despite injury this year, the Victorian has worked his way back into the Power line-up through quality performances in the SANFL, and will play for the Power in the upcoming elimination final against West Coast.

“Karl’s development over the past couple of seasons has been significant and we’re pleased that he has committed to the Club for a further two years,” Port's head of football Chris Davies told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“His diligence throughout the time he was injured was outstanding and he has shown he has the professionalism and work ethic to have a long career at AFL level.”

Amon is keen to build on the 35 games already clocked with the Power.

“I’m really excited to be staying here,” Amon said.

“It’s been a challenging year for me, but it’s been really pleasing to be back on the field at this time of year and trying to help get this club finals success.

“I love the guys I play with, we're a close group and love being part of Port Adelaide.”
