PORT ADELAIDE will miss two players from the weekend’s win over Carlton as it prepares for its Round 3 clash against an undefeated Brisbane at the Gabba on Saturday night.

Port Adelaide midfielder Karl Amon had scans on his injured right knee late this afternoon which confirmed a sprain of the medial ligament. Amon will be sidelined for approximately five to six weeks.

Yesterday Jack Watts had surgery to repair damage to his right leg that got caught under a tackle in the last quarter of Saturday night’s game. Watts suffered a partial dislocation of the ankle and a broken fibula that will sideline the defender indefinitely.

In positive news, co-captain Ollie Wines is training fully and will most likely be available for selection this week. Wines is recovering from an off-season shoulder injury.

Similarly, vice-captain Hamish Hartlett is on the comeback trail after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament last April. Hartlett has played the last two SANFL games for Port Adelaide – a trial against Adelaide a fortnight ago and Round 1 against West Adelaide on Friday night – and is available for AFL selection.
