AS it happened in the first half between the Power and Tigers at Adelaide Oval.

First quarter
It was well and truly wet weather footy in the first quarter as the players struggled to come to grips with greasy conditions.

Not so Justin Westhoff.

In wet or dry conditions, this goal is ridiculous.

Despite that bit of magic, the Tigers answered back with consecutive goals to take the lead.

Ollie Wines was denied a clear mark inside 50 after a Richmond player knocked the ball away before Justin Westhoff missed from 25m out straight in front.

The Power dominated clearances and tackles early and that was finally rewarded with a second goal - this time to Matthew Broadbent after a brilliant chase and tackle by Jake Neade.

Jack Riewoldt again edged the Tigers in front with the visitors' third goal for the opening quarter.

Second quarter
The rain returned in the second quarter and Aaron Young got the Power off to a flyer, bursting through two defenders to slot it home from the top of the goal square.

Charlie Dixon clunked a big grab and converted from 30m, Chad Wingard tapped, spun and received the handball back to goal from 35m before Matthew Broadbent won the free for holding the ball and slotted home his second.

All of a sudden a six-point quarter time deficit was an 18-point lead just seven minutes into the second quarter.

The Power's intensity at the opponent was immense, and it led to a total dominance in inside 50s in the second quarter. At the 15-minute mark, the Power had 12-0 inside 50s for the quarter.

Travis Boak's first half was workmanlike and it was topped off with a nice left-foot snap to continue the Power's streak of goals.

Despite the Power's dominance, Richmond scrapped late to kick the final two goals of the quarter.

Third quarter
It was a tight and scrappy start to the first quarter with neither team able convert any of their work into goals in the first 10 minutes.

The Power's excellent defensive pressure continued and it was typified by Jarman Impey winning a holding the ball free inside 50 and converting for the first major of the third quarter.

Riewoldt received a free for holding the man and answered straight back for the Tigers, before the Richmond forward snapped a beauty on his left foot to cut the margin to 17 points.

Travis Boak then channelled his inner Christiano Ronaldo with a soccered goal that would be in contention for goal of the tournament at the Euros.

Fourth quarter
The Power set up a defensive wall to start the final quarter, repelling several Richmond attacks before countering with a goal to Chad Wingard.

It was impossible to fault the Power's effort and intensity - with Darcy Byrne-Jones showing why he's quickly become a crowd favourite with a fantastic double tackle effort inside defensive 50.

Jake Neade danced around a couple of opponents to find Karl Amon for a nice snap and Kane Mitchell capped off a solid return to AFL ranks with a goal later in the final term.
