First-round draftee Mitch Georgiades has been named in Port Adelaide's side that will take on Brisbane on Sunday.

PORT ADELAIDE has trimmed its squad to 26 as it prepares to face Brisbane in Queensland on Sunday afternoon in round 1 of the Marsh Community Series.

Jack Watts, Cam Sutcliffe, Joe Atley and Willem Drew have been named as emergencies against the Lions, which means Mitch Georgiades and Tobin Cox will play their first senior games for the club.

Georgiades was selected with pick 18 in the 2019 AFL National Draft, and has shown very promising signs since arriving at Alberton Oval in November.

Cox made his way to the Power through the 2018 Rookie Draft where he was taken at pick 9. The crafty forwarded booted 30 goals in 15 SANFL games for the Magpies in his first year at the club.

Robbie Gray and Scott Lycett are the notable absentees from Sunday’s fixture, both will not make the trip to Queensland after being selected to play in next Friday’s State of Origin Bushfire Relief match, while vice-captain Ollie Wines and father-son draftee Jackson Mead will both miss the clash through injury.

Play between Port Adelaide and Brisbane from the Moreton Bay Sports Complex gets underway from 3:40 PM (ACDT) on Sunday afternoon.
