THE Port Adelaide Football Club is giving its members and supporters an opportunity to have a direct impact on its football program through a unique fundraising initiative launched ahead of the 2013 AFL season.

It has unveiled the Port Adelaide Premiership Fund: Every Win Counts campaign, in which donors have the opportunity to make a pledge to the club payable with each win the Power delivers.

Port Adelaide chairman David Koch said the club was responding to members and supporters who want to have a direct impact on its football program.

“We are providing an additional avenue of support in a bid to ensure the wins of today translate into the premiership success of tomorrow,” Mr Koch said.

“Winning is what counts for the Port Adelaide Football Club and we know our people expect nothing less, but we also know they love nothing more.

“The Port Adelaide Premiership Fund: Every Win Counts campaign is a new way of earning the additional support we need to become financially strong and to build on our history of success.

“It is a time of exciting change at Port Adelaide and that change is already having a very positive impact upon the club.

“We are taking some big steps with new on and off-field leadership, new sponsors and new coaches, together with new players and existing team-members who are re-committing to our future.

“Now, we are giving people a fresh opportunity to help us deliver on that change through their own additional investment in their club and its future, by chipping in a little bit more as they share the ongoing spoils of success.”

Under the Premiership Fund: Every Win Counts campaign, members and supporters choose the amount they pay with each win Port Adelaide records in the AFL.

“They already make a significant financial contribution to the club, be it through membership payments, purchasing merchandise and lottery tickets or by coming to our games,” Mr Koch said.

“We see this campaign as an effort to further harness the passion of the Port Adelaide community when our performances warrant it.

“It is a new opportunity Port Adelaide people have to make a difference by contributing a little bit extra as every victory comes around.

“We’re all banking on plenty of wins in the years ahead, so these pledges will all add up.”

Every dollar raised by every win will go towards the Port Adelaide Premiership Fund which was established ahead of the 2013 season, to help directly support the club’s pursuit of grand final glories.

All money pledged will go to Port Adelaide’s football program, helping the club to raise its investment in this critical area from its current level near the bottom of the AFL. The Port Adelaide Football Club is committed to regularly reporting to donors exactly where Premiership Fund contributions are being directed.

“Many Port Adelaide people are often looking for new ways to help their club and we believe this is a unique means of encouraging them to do that,” Mr Koch said.

“The amount people ultimately contribute depends entirely upon our performance, so we’re repaying the faith our members and supporters have in their club.

“We all love Port Adelaide winning games and winning premierships, and while we’ve experienced plenty of success we want a lot more.

“But we need support and we are prepared to earn it!”

The campaign will be ongoing, with donors given the option of altering their pledge or opting out whenever they wish.
