THE Port Adelaide Football Club wishes to advise of the following arrangements for tomorrow’s public memorial service for the late John McCarthy at Alberton Oval tomorrow.
The service will be conducted to coincide with John’s funeral mass in his home community of Sorrento, Victoria, will include a live video feed of those proceedings.
Members of the public are invited to gather at Alberton Oval at 10.15am this Thursday to join in the memorial service at 10.30am and observe the Sorrento service on a large TV screen from 11.00am.
Car parking
The club has limited car parking available opposite The Port Club and on the grassed area accessible via Seventh Avenue.
The bitumen car parks directly outside the Port Club and adjacent to Allan Scott Power Headquarters will be reserved for special vehicles.
On street parking surrounding Alberton Oval is available, however the public is asked to respect surrounding residents when moving to and from their vehicles.
Public Transportation
No arrangements have been made for additional public transport to the Alberton area.
Access to Alberton Oval
Entry to Alberton Oval will be via the Queen Street and Brougham Place match day gates and through The Port Club.
Service seating arrangements
Port Adelaide Football Club chaplain Brandon Chaplin will lead the service which will be held on Alberton Oval directly in front of the Robert B. Quinn Grandstand.
The Robert B. Quinn Grandstand will be open for public seating. There will be additional seating on Alberton Oval together with standing room.
