IN a major recruiting coup for the club, Port Adelaide has secured Damien Cook as a member for Season 2011.

Cook has signed on as a Silver Member and is expected to attend all 11 home games.

Senior Coach Matthew Primus said the club was delighted to have Damien back on board.

“We are thrilled that Damien has signed for 2011 and we look forward to his key contribution at AAMI Stadium for our games this year.” Primus said.

“There’s a real sense that we are building the next successful era of the club and with the addition of Cook to a young group featuring Travis Boak, Robbie Gray, Hamish Hartlett and Jackson Trengove, we’ll be in a great position to make our mark on the competition.

“Damien is part of the backbone of the club and his support is critical to our success in 2011.”

Damien said he was excited to be part of the club again in 2011.

“It’s a new beginning in 2011,” Cook said.

“We’ve got a new coach, plenty of fresh new talent and it’s exciting times ahead for Port Adelaide.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the development of the young players, that’s all we can really ask for as supporters.”

When asked what he loves about the club, he said it was easy - the passion.

“The supporters of this club are amazing - we’re all so passionate. The boys always give 100% and now, more than ever, it’s important to have strong financial support from our members so we can have a strong playing group and good results on field.”

Cook had one final message for people considering signing up in 2011.

“Get on board. The club needs you, the more members we get, the stronger the club will be.”
