PORT ADELAIDE is set to unveil mid-season recruit Jed McEntee this Saturday when the Magpies clash with Woodville-West Torrens at Oval Avenue.

McEntee, who will don the no. 41 jumper, has followed in the footsteps of SANFL captain Cam Sutcliffe in making his way to Alberton mid-year.

However, he will be made to wait to play alongside his new skipper as Sutcliffe misses this weekend troubled by a shoulder injury.

Adding some much-needed experience to a young Magpies line-up will be experienced defender Jace Bode.

Bode - a three-time premiership player with Norwood and former captain of the Redlegs – will qualify for SANFL life membership when he takes to the field against the Eagles.

The 33-year-old will play his third game for the season, taking his career tally to 200 career games (including two state games for South Australia) as one of several changes to the club’s lineup.

Father-son AFL draft prospect Jase Burgoyne has returned to his parent club the Eagles after a three-game stint in which he made his SANFL debut with Port. Ironically, he will be replaced in the side by his older brother Trent, who is returning from a hamstring injury.

Midfielder Matt Appleton has also been listed to return from a hamstring injury, having not featured for the club since the narrow Round 4 loss to Glenelg.

Any AFL emergency not used for Thursday night’s game against Geelong will be eligible to feature at SANFL level.

The game at Woodville against the Eagles will get underway at 2:35pm.
