PORT ADELAIDE has secured former North Melbourne midfielder Trent Dumont with pick 14 of Friday’s National Rookie Draft.
Dumont had been delisted by the Kangaroos at the end of the 2021 season after 113 games.
Aged 26, the former Norwood player will provide valuable experience to the Power midfield.
Despite a calf injury in 2021, Dumont finished the season playing the last 14 games with the Kangaroos.
Across his time in the AFL, he averages 19.7 disposals and 3.9 tackles per game.
Port Adelaide also used the rookie draft to reclaim utility Sam Mayes as promised.
Dumont will join Josh Sinn, Hugh Jackson, Dante Visentini and Jase Burgoyne as new faces at Alberton following the National and Rookie drafts.
