THE Port Adelaide Football Club congratulates a host of its Next Generation Academy players and graduates for being named in the 2022 SANFL Under 18 Girls Academy squad.

The team, to be coached by Magarey Medallist Tim Weatherald, is made up of 43 players from the eight SANFLW sides.

Among the squad are 19 players who have come through Port Adelaide’s NGA, headlined by Woodville-West Torrens pair Shineah Goody and Marlie Fiegert, who impressed in their debut SANFLW seasons in 2021.

Fiegert is the daughter of three-time Port Adelaide premiership player Nigel Fiegert.

India Rasheed, the 15-year-old daughter of Port Adelaide ambassador Roger Rasheed, is also in the squad, which will be trimmed to 30 in early March ahead of games against Western Australia, Victoria Metro and the Allies in April.

SANFLW Best and Fairest and Port Adelaide NGA product Lauren Young won’t feature as part of the squad after undergoing a knee reconstruction.

The squad will take part in a four-day camp at Thebarton Oval from Monday December 13 to Thursday December 16, with a broad range of training activities and educational seminars to be conducted.

Its first game will be played in Perth on the weekend of April 9-10.
