IVAN SOLDO and Todd Marshall are both pressing for a possible return to football this weekend.
Marshall's condition has further improved following a hip injury, with the key forward expected to be available, while Soldo has rejoined full training and will be assessed throughout the week.
Defenders Trent McKenzie and Kyle Marshall have both been ruled out of the rest of the season, with quad and shoulder injuries respectively.
McKenzie sustained a high-grade quad strain during training, while Marshall has undergone shoulder surgery to have a labral tear repaired.
Port Adelaide will name its team for Saturday's game against Melbourne at 5:50pm ACST on Thursday.
