POWER rookie Darren Pfeiffer has taken the febfast challenge and will swear off alcohol for the full month of February this year.

The febfast initiative aims to increase awareness of the dangers related to alcohol consumption and raise money for programs that help tackle drug and alcohol problems among young people and families.

Pfeiffer, who is entering his second year on Port Adelaide’s list, is joining seventeen other players from around the competition in taking up the challenge.

“With a third chance at an AFL career I know how important it is to maximise your potential,” Pfeiffer told the febfast website.

“The reality is that you can’t be at your best if you are abusing alcohol.

“AFL football is a competitive industry and everyone is looking for that extra one per cent, a dry February is the perfect way to launch into the season and will ensure I am firing on all cylinders.

“Whether your focus is football, your career or relationships make February the launching pad for your best year.”
