PORT Adelaide captain Dom Cassisi has taken the positives out of the Power’s loss to Fremantle on Sunday.
Coming off a 20 disposal game, half of which were hard ball gets, Cassisi was pleased by the desire of his teammates but concedes that the Power’s ball usage remains the chief hurdle to winning games.
“I thought our effort, our contested stuff was really good but what really let us down was our skill level once again.”
“We really wanted to match them (Fremantle) with contested footy, obviously clearances as well - if you win those areas, along with tackles you give yourself a good opportunity (to win games).”
“Once again our skill errors let us down - we have to keep working on that and until we can tidy that up it’s going to make life very difficult to us.”

Port Adelaide had 19 more unforced errors than Fremantle - most of which caused turnovers and cost the Power goals.
Despite the Power’s poor record, Cassisi remains positive that Port Adelaide will get through the tough times it has experienced and return to the attacking style of play it trialled to high praise in the pre-season.
“We just have to worry about what we can control and that’s doing everything right and trying to win a game of footy,” he said.
“We thought that prior to last week the 10 weeks we had were really competitive against some good opposition.
“We’ve got a thick skin and once we can turn it around (our current form) we’ll go from strength to strength.”
Port Adelaide next hosts North Melbourne at AAMI Stadium on Saturday 19 May.
