Port Adelaide hard nut Willem Drew has been banging on the door for selection after overcoming a foot injury.

PORT ADELAIDE will be forced into at least one change for Saturday’s game against Richmond with Sam Mayes ruled out with suspension, but selectors could be tempted to consider more changes if other players need a rest after consecutive short turnarounds.

Mayes has been playing primarily across the backline and that could open the door for a return of either Riley Bonner or Jarrod Lienert to the side.

Coach Ken Hinkley said Lienert was unlucky to come out of the team for Monday’s game against the Western Bulldogs to allow Trent McKenzie to return.

Ruckman Scott Lycett will be out to prove he has overcome a knee injury which has kept him out of the last two games so that he will finally get to play his 100th AFL game.

After missing Monday’s win with minor delayed concussion, Brad Ebert could be in contention for selection and his ability to play as a forward and midfielder would be valuable against the reigning Premier.

Midfielder Willem Drew has been an emergency for the last couple of games having returned from a foot injury along with defender Joel Garner and both are banging on the door for a look in.

Port Adelaide will on Friday evening name its side to tackle the Tigers, with first bounce at Adelaide Oval at 4:05pm ACST on Saturday.
